Welcome to the TRU alumni community. As a new graduate, you are joining a diverse family that spans generations and continents. You are joining a 50-year legacy that began humbly with Cariboo College in Kamloops, B.C., and has grown into a global network of friends, mentors and colleagues that are cheering you on–today and always.
Community matters, and you are part of ours. This is only the beginning. As you embark on your next chapter, whatever that may be, we want to tell the story of your success so fellow alumni can stay connected with you and current TRU students can be inspired by your example.
Being part of this community has benefits. Our 60,000 TRU alumni span 115 countries. We gather when we can, and encourage you to make connections that will serve you well for years to come. Your fellow alumni can offer advice, friendship and networking. They have made the transition out of university, changed careers, embarked on new studies or even started a business during this challenging time. Learn from them.
You can stay connected to your peers through the TRU Alumni office, which coordinates events, services and benefits that you are entitled to for life. Learn all about our activities at tru.ca/alumni and sign up for our newsletter to stay in the know.
You will always be part of this community. We are thrilled to welcome you.

Congratulations, graduates, on achieving this life-changing milestone.
Today, the TRU Foundation celebrates your current and future success.
Most importantly, we celebrate your happiness. We know your TRU education will take you far and help you become the best possible version of yourself. As you move forward on your next journey, reflect on the hurdles you overcame. Remember everyone who has supported you and had an impact on your life. As cliché as it sounds, we hope you find ways of making the world a better place.
The TRU Foundation was created to help students overcome some of the obstacles they face in pursuit of education. With generosity from thousands of donors, we provide financial support and scholarships to more than 1,300 students every year and fund initiatives and projects to enhance the educational experience.
Generations of TRU alumni have charitably supported higher education, and we are immensely grateful for their involvement. More than once over the past two years, TRU alumni came together to fund first-year bursaries and emergency awards for students in need. There are many opportunities to volunteer with the TRU Foundation and see philanthropy in action. One day down the road, we hope you consider students when making decisions about your own charitable giving. Helping students reach for their dreams is rewarding, and no gift is too small to make a difference.
