What are important deadlines I need to note?

14 days prior – All menu selections must be confirmed.

8 days prior – Final numbers & dietaries confirmed, 75% balance due, and final contract signed.

What is required to secure the venue?

A non-refundable deposit equal to the venue rental is required to confirm your date and secure the space.

When can we access the facility?

Access is confirmed approximately seven (7) days prior to your booking, depending on other events scheduled. If available, decorating may begin the day prior. Otherwise, access begins at 8 a.m. the morning of your event.

Are candles permitted?

Contained flame candles (tea lights & votives) are permitted. No open flames or candelabras. Maximum five candles per table.

Can we bring our own cake?

Yes. You may bring your own cake and candy stations. Cakes cannot be stored overnight due to refrigeration capacity limits.

Can we host our ceremony at TRU?

The Horticulture Gardens provide a beautiful outdoor ceremony location with up to 130 white folding chairs, signing table, and DJ table. Ceremony windows: 11am–2pm or 2:30pm–5:30pm.

Can we bring our own liquor?

No. Under BC Liquor License regulations, outside alcohol is not permitted. We can special order wines through the BC Liquor Store.

How long can guests stay?

Last call is 12:45 a.m. and the venue closes at 2 a.m.

Where can guests park?

Parking lots J, K, N and H are nearby. Parking is free evenings after 5 p.m. and on weekends.
