This year generous donors like you helped us raise $81,591 towards improving the lives of our students. Even though Day of Giving may be over, it's not too late to pick a cause and make a difference.
Give nowEach year, TRU’s Day of Giving calls on the community to improve the lives of Thompson Rivers University students. This year, we raised $80,850 in 48 hours.
Your gift will be directed to student support, research, and/or special initiatives — wherever it is needed most.
Your gift will provide funding toward scholarships and awards for Indigenous students at TRU, helping to fuel success, eliminate achievement gaps and honour truth, reconciliation and rights.
Your gift will help fund a program or award of your choice and make a difference to TRU students. More than 900 TRU students received donor-funded financial support last year. Many more still need our help.
Your gift will support WolfPack student-athletes through scholarships and awards allowing student-athletes to focus on their training and studies without financial stress, positively impacting their education and athletic performance. When you back the ‘Pack, you help TRU WolfPack teams stay competitive on the national stage.
Your gift will support the future of learning in the Cariboo by contributing to the Williams Lake Endowed Fund for Student Support. Our total goal for this fund is $1M. The endowment this creates will support scholarships, bursaries and other student initiatives for decades to come.
Your gift in support of the Health Care Student Equipment Fund will provide lab essentials to health-care students, building on the legacy started with Day of Giving 2023 where nearly 200 nursing and respiratory therapy students received lab kits with essential tools.
2024 was a great success and we couldn't have done it without you. Take a look at where our generous donors directed their gifts this year.

I want to do all of this mainly for my nieces and nephews. I want to make sure they’re aware they can always go further. They shouldn’t let anything hold them back.
The extra support was a huge assistance to my family in helping us move back to Kamloops.
I want to help our next generation succeed in life and their pursuit of a meaningful post secondary education and journey.
"This is a tribute to the nurses and other health care professionals who fought through the stress of covid."
Rob Allan"This necessary equipment support would have been very helpful when I started my nursing training. I can sympathize with the extra expense it would mean to a student without it."
Brenda Smith"At WLDCU we have a long history of supporting the health care needs of our communities and felt this would be a great way to continue our support. Access to health care in our rural communities has been a challenge for many years. We’ve recognized that and have invested ourselves in being part of the solution and, of course, we’d encourage all members of the business community to do what they can. As a community owned Cooperative Financial Institution, we are committed to improving the communities where our members live, work and play. The donation will make education more affordable for the students that come to study nursing."
Jim Zimmerman"I am happy to support nursing. I've been under the care of some of TRU's nursing graduates and was impressed with their skill and professionalism."
Gary Major"Two of my kids as well as myself all went to TRU. We all got a quality education in a small class environment."
Barb Ward"It is very important to support Indigenous students who are or will be leading their communities and organizations."
Salvador Barragan"My educational journey at TRU was helped along by financial support from the TRU Foundation and the amazing people there and in the Financial Aid and Awards office. It's my turn to be on the other side. Students matter."
Elizabeth Andrucson"He taught the students in their labs, and they gave him their respect in the end. TRU (UCC '2000) was foundational in preparing me for my Veterinary Career. Animals are in continual need of care, so helping Veterinary Technology students achieve their goals towards graduation and beyond, regenerates the cycle which ensures loving (animal) healthcare professionals will be there to provide for the future."
James Sudhoff"Our son Brett graduated from the RT program. I know first hand the support that the students need to complete this intensive career choice."
