Committees

Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee

The Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee is a formal committee of Senate made up of staff, student and faculty representatives who influence and guide sustainability strategies for the university. Contact us at jgordon@tru.ca to inquire about current member vacancies. The committee meets the first Wednesday of the month (except July and August), from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the TRUSU Boardroom in the Students' Union Building. Meetings are open to everyone.

Kamloops Air Quality Roundtable

The Kamloops Air Quality Roundtable is a multi-party collaborative initiative formed in June 2015. It is facilitated by the Fraser Basin Council (Kamloops chapter), and TRU has several seats at the table. The purpose of the roundtable is to enable inclusive, multi-party communication, information-sharing, feedback and wider implementation of existing tools, products and initiatives related to air quality that are science-based and that recognize environmental, social, health and economic perspectives.

If you’re interested in sitting on the roundtable or want more information about it, contact Mike Simpson, Senior Regional Manager, Thompson region, Fraser Basin Council at 250-314-9660 or msimpson@fraserbasin.bc.ca.

TRU Sustainability Grant Fund Review Committee

This committee is made up of students, staff and faculty members, and is in charge of deciding on which projects receive funding from the Sustainability Grant Fund. Details about the committee can be found on pages 4 and 5 of the fund’s Terms of Reference.
