Ask for help before it becomes a crisis
If you find yourself approaching a financial cliff and don’t have an emergency fund to fall back on, start looking for options before the cash runs out. Check the resources on this site for how you can reduce your expenses, consider part-time work options, and ask our office to review your student loan to ensure you are receiving the maximum to which you are entitled, and look at your financial options.
You may also want to consider asking your family or other contacts to lend you some money to get through the rest of the school year. Don’t wait until your financial problems are out of control.
There’s no shame in asking the people who love you for a little help when you need it most. If they have the means to help you, they might be able to do so... and this is usually the best option for interest-free payments.
