TRU Connect Submission Form

Share your communications on TRU Connect

Send us your news and we will share it internally with university staff and faculty through TRU Connect. Students do not receive TRU Connect.

MarCom staff will publish your post (news, notices, kudos) or event in three to five business days from submission. If you cannot give us a minimum of three days’ notice, email us at feedback@tru.ca. We edit for style and length, and may follow up with questions. Please select either Submit a Post or Submit an Event below. 

Submit a Post (news, notices, kudos)

A short, active, expressive headline, max. 7 words.

State your post’s key takeaway in 20 words for notifications.



The default author is MarCom, but you can submit an alternate author, such as a department or individual, with your desired contact email, e.g. Secretariat, secretariat@tru.ca.

Please provide your message text, up to 150 words. You can also include notes to MarCom, e.g. date and time for any deadlines, scheduling questions, web links, story ideas.

We can only publish JPG format images that have no text. They must be 1200 pixels wide by 675 pixels high, at 72 ppi or higher. Other images will not be used, but we will find a snazzy substitute.

You can resize your photos online on befunky, a free photo editor: https://www.befunky.com/ Just click on create > photo editor. Drag your photo onto the screen. Crop/resize is on the left-hand column. Put in 1200 X 675. Apply. Save. Save as JPG. Download.

To include documents, we prefer a web link but can include PDF attachments up to 1 mb (e.g. nomination forms).
Submit an Event (must be held by TRU, open to employees)

A short, active, expressive headline, max. 7 words.

Sum up your event’s call to action in 20 words for notifications.

Select the starting date of your event. If it lasts several days, include the full date and time details in your Event Content information below.

Provide the times for your event.

Provide the in-person location (e.g. HL 190) and/or a virtual venue (e.g. MS Teams) and the link

For events that repeat WEEKLY, MarCom will create duplicate events for you. Please include all dates in the sequence under Event Content below.
For events that repeat MONTHLY, please submit a new form for each month.
