Parking Lottery

Due to high demand, premium and reserved permits for Kamloops campus parking are allocated through a lottery system. These annual permits are valid for the academic year, starting Sept. 1 and ending Aug. 31.

A full breakdown of all parking options and rates for 2026/27 is available on the Parking FAQs page.

Lottery Terms

Premium

  • Premium winners will have until May 26 to accept and purchase the permit by clicking the unique link provided via email along with your personalized access code.
  • Premium permits are valid for 1 year only from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31. Premium permit winners are not eligible to keep their premium permit year after year.
  • If you have applied to both the premium and the reserved lotteries, and are offered a premium permit, purchasing that permit will automatically remove your name from the reserved lottery.

Reserved

  • Reserved winners will have until June 15 to accept and purchase the permit by clicking the unique link provided via email along with your personalized access code.
  • Reserved permits are valid for 1 year only from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, with the option to renew. Renewed reserved stalls will not be part of the lottery.

Reserved renewals

  • Current reserved permit holders who confirmed their intent to renew their permit with the Parking Office will receive an email in June on how to re-register their permit for the upcoming academic year.
  • Your option to renew your reserved parking is only valid for your current permit’s lot and stall assignment. To relocate to a different reserved lot you would have to apply to the lottery, with no guarantee of obtaining a new reserved permit.

Hours in effect

  • Reserved and premium parking permits are in effect on campus Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as these are the hours of paid parking enforcement on campus. Your permit is not valid in the evening after 5 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday, and on recognized statutory holidays and university closures.
  • Ensure that you review the parking terms and conditions.

How to enter the lottery

When the lottery is live, log into tru.concordparking.com using your TRU credentials.

Apply for your preferred lot(s), choosing one payment type only for each lot, e.g. monthly recurring or payroll deduction (employees only).

Select your desired permit (by lot) for premium or reserved. The lottery permits will have the date Sep. 1, 2026 - Aug. 31, 2027, followed by an amber "Lottery" button. Click the Lottery button of the permit you want.

Enter your name, phone number and email. If this is the first time you are applying for a permit, this will create your parking account. You will be entered into the lottery for the selected permit. Repeat if interested in other lots.

Note: Choosing more than one payment type (employees) per lot does not increase your chances and complicates the awarding phase. Duplicate entries (selecting different payment options) for the same lot will be removed.

Payment options (credit card or payroll deduction) are confirmed when you are accepting a permit offer after the lottery concludes. Payment is by credit card on the date you click accept, or by payroll deduction beginning on the effective date of your permit, Sept. 1.

The reserved lottery closes after the premium lottery so if you do not receive a premium permit, there is still time to enter for a reserved permit.

Note: you are not eligible to win more than once for the same lottery. If you are offered a premium permit and decline it, your remaining options are to enter the reserved lottery or to purchase a general or economy permit. Fall semester general and economy permit sales will open in August.

Wait list

Any unsold premium and reserved spaces will move to the wait lists once the lottery is concluded and awarded. The wait list will open June 16.

Anyone who missed the lottery or was not successful in getting a premium or reserved permit can apply to be on a wait list. Wait lists run automatically when a permit is cancelled, declined or not purchased. Recipients of a wait-listed permit will have 24 hours to accept and purchase by clicking the unique link provided to you via email.

Once you are awarded and accept a wait-listed permit, you will be removed from all other wait lists. For example, if you are on wait lists for Lot A3, L1 and Lot C and you are awarded a permit for Lot C and accept the offer, you will be removed from the Lot A3 and L1 wait lists.
