Frequently asked questions
When do I need to meet with a nursing advisor?
You should come meet with us at the beginning of your program, some time within your first year. You are welcome to come see us any time after that with further questions.
Why do I need to meet with a nursing advisor?
We will assist you with program planning and will provide referrals when necessary. We want to keep you on track for graduation.
When do I need to apply for graduation and how do I do that?
You must apply before March 31 of your graduating year. This is done through your myTRU account in the Academic Records section.

Health and wellness
TRU's School of Nursing is committed to supporting our students’ health and wellness. As a TRU nursing student, you have access to the many services and support programs.
In addition, support for all TRU students is listed in Current Students.
- Nursing Peer Mentorship provides support to peers within the nursing program.
- TRU Recreation has free drop-in open gym hours and free fitness classes for TRU students and staff, including circuit, boot camp, hatha yoga, meditation and relaxation, Zumba, and stretch and tone.
- Learning Without Walls gives support for online learning and accessing TRU information and services.
- Cplul’kw’ten holds virtual wellness events, one-on-one counselling and provides access to cultural supports from Elders and staff.
- TRU Nursing Wellness Committee coordinates events related to health and wellness.
- Sexualized Violence Prevention and Response
- Respectful Workplace and Harassment Prevention
Here 2 Talk gives BC post-secondary students free access to confidential counselling and 24/7 mental health support. Their app provides a platform to access resources or to start a private chat/call with a trained counsellor.
