Health, Safety, and Environment
Thompson Rivers University is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace and learning environment for all members of the TRU community. This commitment is supported by the university’s executive in the form of TRU’s health and safety policy. At TRU, safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Creating a culture of safety
Culture is the way we do things. It includes shared practices, attitudes and perceptions that influence behavior. At TRU, managers, supervisors and workers share common values that make health and safety a priority. In our safety culture, unsafe acts and conditions are anticipated and corrected before harm is done, we engage in injury and disease prevention, and, above all, we all take ownership of health and safety issues.
