Application
This program is only available for in-person on-campus studies at the TRU campus in Kamloops, B.C.
The following documentation must be submitted to the TRU Admissions Office to complete your application.
After you have submitted an application to the program, the Admissions Office will send you an email with links to the online mandatory documents (indicated in brackets).

Letter of introduction
Outline the reasons you would like to become a teacher, why you have chosen the TRU BETT program and any information you feel is pertinent to your application.
Action: Use the link provided in the email from the Admissions Office to complete and submit this form.
Volunteer experience
Outline your experience with middle or high school aged students in group settings, preferably including 25 hours in a middle or high school classroom.
Action: Use the link provided in the email from the Admissions Office to complete and submit this form.
Resume
Include trades-related employment and work experience, with at least five years of journeyperson work and/or teaching experience in the last 10 years.

References
The two individuals providing you with a reference should have observed you working with groups of middle or high school students as you indicated in the volunteer experience form.
After you apply, the Admissions Office will provide a reference form link for you to pass on to your two referees. Be sure to provide referees with your TRU ID number.

Trades certificate
Provide a copy of your SkilledTradesBC recognized Red Seal or Certificate of Qualification. If you have certification from another authority, you must first apply to SkilledTradesBC to receive an equivalency.
Action: Provide SkilledTradesBC certification via email to admissions@tru.ca and include the words BETT Program and your TRU Student ID number in the subject line of your email.
Transcripts
If applicable, submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended except TRU. Official transcripts must come directly from the issuing institution and include a translation to English if required. Final official transcripts must be submitted to admissions@tru.ca no later than May 15 for the fall intake.
